Do you have any New Years resolutions? Do you even believe in them? I don’t think I have ever written mine down. Oh, I’ve thought about them.  They ranged from loosing weight, writing more to cleaning my kitchen every day.  Did I ever keep them? Not longer than a month or so.  This year however I’m thinking of going one step further and write about it.
Here goes.  My New Years resolution is to make more “me” time and to not get upset if I don’t meet my weekly writing goal.
What is your resolution this year?

I don’t think there is a prettier site than waking up to falling snow.  The ground is currently covered with a little bit of snow.  It’s not enough to go cross country skiing but it’s enough to make the landscape look awesome.

I am hoping to get new cross country equipment this weekend.  I’ll be taking care of all the boxing week sales.

What kind of boxing week sales are you planning to take advantage of?

Cold during the holidays

Being sick is never fun but being sick during the holidays really isn’t fun at all.   I’m glad I’m off today so I can take it easy although I had planned on doing some major cleaning in my home. I did get some done but not as much as I’d liked.  I haven’t been to the gym in a week.  Going up and down stairs makes me loose my breath I can’t imagine what going to the gym would do to me. Tomorrow it’s back to work for me. I decided this year not to take time off between Christmas and New Years.  I’ll need all the time off in 2007 to finish my edits and get ready for book fairs and events.

I did get some writing done yesterday, two pages and I’m planning on doing the same amount today. I’m close to the halfway point in the book. I’m still not sure how I’ll truly end it but I know it’ll all come together in the end. It always does for me.

Boxing day!

So how generous was Santa to you? Mine was quite generous.  I got tons of Christmas themed dishes. So I’m prepared for the next 11 days of Christmas and next year. YEAH!!

We spent Christmas morning slowly opening gifts, eating cookies and simply enjoying being together.

Today is another thing. I woke up with my cold being worse but I still want to go hunting for bargains.  What will your boxing day be about?

My trip to the bookstore

Now that I’m all done my Christmas shopping, I even got an extra gift in case I missed someone. I do this every year just in case. You never know when one extra gift will come in handy.

I also stopped by my local bookstore THE BOOK STOP and filled up on books. I picked up the last book in the Elliott series through Silhouette Desire. I’m really going to miss this series once I’m done reading it. It was a fabulous series.  I’m sure they’ll have another new one starting in Jan 2007, but it just won’t be the same.

I also picked up a New Year book. I remember a few years ago there used to be tons of New Years themed books but in the last couple of years I haven’t found any. Well I snagged this one and plan on reading it before 2007.

So all in all a great expedition to the bookstore today.

Wanting to be a government worker for one day

The bad thing with working in a government town is that the bus service is pretty much dictated by their hours.  Since this is the last working day before Christmas the buses express services that I use will start at noon and end by 3pm.  Which isn’t a problem for government workers since they are done by noon.  However my day doesn’t end until 4pm as usual.  I’ll have to take a different kind of bus and walk home.  This wouldn’t be a problem if it were nice out there. It’s freezing rain or will be soon.

So for today I wished I were a government worker!

Rocky is BAAAACK!

Another Rocky movie is hitting the movie theatres today.  I remember watching the first 5 Rockys and really enjoying them.  Do I intend to go see the new one? I’m not sure. The critics are giving it good reviews. So attendance should be good over the next week or so.  I really like the actor who plays Rochy’s son, he played Jess in Gilmore Girls.  He’s a hunky guy!

Do you intend to go see this movie?

My lunchtime adventure

At lunch today I closed my door and lost myself in the last few pages of IF ONLY IN MY DREAMS.  I swear this is a book that I’ll remember for a long time.  It has given me that warm and fuzzy feeling. The last time I felt that way after reading a book was THREE WISHES by Barbara Delinski. Now that was an awesome book.  A sad but awesome book none the less.  The only downfall of finishing this book during my lunch hour is that I have nothing to read on my way home tonight. Darn.  Now I’m not sure which of the three remaining Christmas books I’ll read.

Have you found a Christmas book this year that has made you love reading again?

Getting lost in a book

Have you ever been so caught up in a book that you forget or almost forget to get off at your bus or transit stop?  That’s only happen to me a few times.  Today I almost forgot to get off the buss when it got me downtown. I was so much into my book, IF ONLY IN MY DREAMS.  I’d thought I’d have this book finished over the weekend but I’m loving it too much to simply gulp it all at once. Plus I worked outdoors this weekend selling Christmas trees with a friend. I had a blast.

Have you ever been so caught up in a book that you forget everything but the book you are reading? If so what’s the book?
