End of another month

I watched Gilmore Girls last night and they seem to get the show back on track.  The dialogue sparkled (as it usually does) and the characters seemed to shine.  The way they ended the show it seems that Lorelai wouldn’t be opposed to having another child and she saw Luke in a new light.  Now this is very promising. YEAH!!

Well February wasn’t a writing month for me.  I only wrote 3 pages in 28 days.  Do I feel bad about that?  Not really.  I’m hoping to get back on track in March, but life has a tendency to get in the way so I’m not making any kind of promises.

What do you do when life gets in the way of doing things you’d planned to do? Go with the flow or fight it all the way?

Dream vacation

If you could afford a trip or win one where would go?  At the moment mine would have to be restrictive to within Canada. Why? I no longer have a valid passport.  That will soon change but for the moment I’m limited.  Then again this is a dream trip so anything is possible.

I would make a pit stop in Houston to pick Tracy and her husband before heading out to visit Morag in Hawaii.  What would we do? I know Morag would suggest lying in the sun and shopping.

What and where would your fantasy vacation be?

Annoyance of Spammers

Well it looks like the spammers have discovered my blog.  I have had more spammers lately than anything else.  It used to be the only kind of spammers were the ones you’d get through junk mail that would come in your mail, then came fax spammers, then they graduated to email spammers (now they have to be soooo annoying) and now blog spammers.  Where else will they show up?

Inspiration

I have been asked quite a bit what inspires the stories I write.  I do know that some authors use TV shows or news to inspire a story for them.  Personally, I always find that hard to explain. Probably because I have never taken the time to really think about it.  However lately I have been thinking about it.  I would have to say I take some of my ideas from my real life.

In NUTS ABOUT YOU my hero has a deadly allergy to nuts.  That’s from my life. No I don’t have a nut allergy but my older sister does. I have been trained since birth to know what needs to be done if something were to happen to her.  This made it easy to make the ultimate weapon against my hero.

What inspires you when you write your book(s)?

Judging

Is it just me or has the judge involved in the Anna Smith case acting unprofessionally.  I envision judges to be detached and professional.  This one rants and seems to be emotionally involved.

Maybe that’s how American judges are, I don’t know.  I haven’t been to court all that many times in Canada.  The few times I did go as an observer the judge was impartial and emotionally detached.  To me they’d have to be in order to make an impartial judgement.

Another form of judging started again this week, American Idol. Now in that show the judges certainly aren’t impartial or emotionally detatched at least they weren’t when I watched the show. I haven’t watched any of the shows yet and don’t think I’ll be watching it again this year. However we have heard all the hoopla about Paul Abdul.  Are you planning to watch it?

Helping Shane

The little boy suffering from cancer in Ottawa named Shane is making strides towards making his dream come true.  People from around the world seem to have heard his call because they are getting cards from all over.

The radio station I listen to in the morning had an update on how many cards they have received on his behalf.  They honestly don’t know how many they have received, it’s too many to count. But he is no where near his wish of beating the world record by his birthday in May.

So if you haven’t sent in a card please do so.

Rewriting movie or show

Have you ever thought of rewriting a movie script or a show you’ve just watched?  I have.  It’s only happened a few times.  The first time came after watching the movie SPEED 2. Don’t get me wrong I love Sandra Bullock, but I hated the storyline for the second movie.  I know Keanu Reeves didn’t return but that didn’t mean they had to completely remove his character.  I think it would have been better if Jason Patrick had simply stepped in the role of Jack instead of rewriting the whole thing.  The only saving grace for that movie was the ending where Sandra Bullock’s character is going for her driver’s test once more and what happens to pass her but the buss from SPEED 1.

As for shows I would love to see a rewrite for the end of GILMORE GIRLS last season.  Why did she have to sleep with Christopher, again?  She should have grown enough to break that self destructive habit.

If you could rewrite either a movie, movie scene or show what would it and how would you change it?

Escaping life

So what do you do when you need to escape your life?  Do you take a bath, go to the gym, shop, meet with friends?  Since I don’t really like shopping I don’t go on shopping sprees when stressed or in need of escape.  A leisure bath with a good book used to work.  Now I keep thinking of all the time I’m wasting.  Now I leave my home and meet one of my girlfriends for coffee or tea at a local Tim Horton’s.  That seems to work.

Can you tell I’m in need to escape? LOL

I’m all booked!

I got back in to the writing spirit last night. I sat down and wrote 3 pages. I haven’t done that in over a month.  I simply haven’t had the time or the desire to make more time.  I’m hoping to get back into making my weekly goals of 10 pages per week.

I’m so excited. Although the RWA national conference isn’t until July I booked my flight today.  I was able to get a really nice fee.  The conference is taking place in Dallas but I’ll be visiting our very own Tracy in Houston beforehand.  So I’ll be flying in and out of Houston.  We are so going to have a blast this summer!

What are you reading?

What are you currently reading? I’m reading an old book called WEDDING WELLIES by Victoria Pade. I’ve been reading her books for years and have loved every single one of them. This book is part of a series called Northbridge Brides.  Today my mission is to search for the books in this series that I don’t currently have. I do believe I hear Amazon and Chapters-Indigo calling my name.
