Historical Romance author, DIANE WYLIE

I had the honor of interviewing Diane Wylie. I am in the mist of reading her historical romance SECRETS AND SACRIFICES.  If you are a fan of historical romances you’ll want to pick up a copy this book. It’s a jewel.

Today I’ll start by introducing Diane with her bio and tomorrow I’ll be posting her interview questions. If you have questions of your own please don’t hesitate to leave them in the comment box and I’m sure Dian would be happy to answer them.

 May I introduce Diane Wylie

Historical romance author, Diane Wylie, loves books that will take her on an emotional roller coaster ride. What better genre than romance to do that? She has always particularly loved historical romances for their dashing heroes and beautiful heroines.Since watching Gone With the Wind as a child, she has had an avid interest in the American Civil War. This interest comes to bear in her two acclaimed novels, My Enemy, My Love and Secrets and Sacrifices, along with short story, “A Soldier to Love.”Diane makes her home in Maryland with her husband, Ed, a former racecar driver, and two wonderful children. During the day Diane is an award-winning technical writer for a scientific instrument company in Delaware.

  1. I loved Secrets and Sacrifices. I was shocked that women actually did fight as they did in the Revolutionary war. Diane handed this exceptionally as well as the surgical aspects that was intriguing. Where did you find all that information about surgery?

  2. I thought the same thing Judy.

  3. My Dad had gotten the entire subscription to Time-Life’s series called The Civil War. When he died he left them to me. There must be close to 25 books dealing strictly with every aspect of the Civil War. I got quite a bit of medical information from them and from other sources like the internet and additional books.

There is also a great book about women who fought in both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars called “All the Daring of the Soldier” by Elizabeth D. Leonard. It was this book that gave me the idea for the character of Charlotte or “Charlie.” She goes into detail about the lives of these women during and after the war. Fascinating stuff!

    Thanks for asking, Judy.
    Diane
