There are a few movies I’m looking forward to seeing but none more than FAME. I loved the original movie and the show. The best part is that Debbie Allen is also returning for the new movie. I simple can’t wait.

Well I have a new online addiction. No it doesn’t involved looking at those sites. Now get your mind out of the gutter. No the new site I like to look at every day or every other day is The Book Smugglers.  

What is so different about these bloggers? Well I can’t really pin it down, but I have to say that I like the way they review books. It is quite detailed. However I’m not a huge fan of their rating. It reminds me of school grades, not a good thing, for me at least.  What genre of books do they review? Well when I first started to read them they were having a YA feature feast. It caught my interest and I became hooked. Will it replace Smart Bitches Trashy Books or Dear Author? Absolutely no.   If you also want to become addicted click here

Well I finished the latest in the NIGHTKEEPERS series SKYKEEPERS by Jessica Andersen. If I wasn’t already hooked I would be after reading this one.

SKYKEEPERS finds the Nightkeepers deep in trouble and trying to save the rest of us on earth. The story surrounds Sasha and Michael. We’ve all known there was something dark and dangerous about Michael (which made him oh so appealing to us women). Well there is a good reason for that, he isn’t a salesman but a trained killer. He is ashamed of his darker side, which he calls the Other. Sasha discovers that the man she believed to have been her father was actually her uncle. She had been sent away in order to save her life. After years of doubt she embraces her true identity.  Together Michael and Sasha sizzle on each page, but Michael resists temptation because he doesn’t know if he can keep the Other at bay and not hurt Sasha.  

We also get an update on the rest of the Nightkeepers. The couples are still deeply in love. The best part is that we get more of Rabbit (I hope he decides to change his name soon because he deserves something better). He’s in college, still making the wrong choices. He has a strong battle ahead of him but its one I think he can handle.

What I liked most about this book is that Ms Andersen kept Sasha and Michael apart and upped the sexual tension big time. Well she tried to keep them apart, but…. It made for a fabulous read. Like I said in the beginning if I wasn’t already hooked on the series I would be after reading SKYKEEPERS. So it definitely gets a recommended read by this reader.

The past few weeks I have been watching reruns of BEING ERICA and WILD ROSES. I still can’t believe that WILD ROSES isn’t returning next year. I loved that show. As for BEING ERICA I’m looking forward to seeing what will happen next. Her doctor has been replaced and she’s now in a relationship with Ethan. Well at least I think she is since she slept with him.

What do I want to see in next years half season? Yeah CBC decided to only renew it for a half season - crap. I’m hoping that Erica’s sister and brother-in-law will make their marriage work. It doesn’t look like he loves his wife but deep down I think he does. He just doesn’t want to. I finally want a show to show us that a marriage is like a job you have to work at it and it does work out.

What about Erica and Ethan? I hope they make things work out. They make a great couple. I also want Erica to strive at work and challenge herself. I hate to see her stuck as an assistant her whole life. She’s better than that.

Now what will happen with Dr Tom? There are quite a few theories floating around about him. I do hope he returns because he truly got Erica and knew how to get to her.

What do you think the new season of BEING ERICA has in store for us TV watchers?

I’m so excited I could burst. Well this past weekend I was asked to join a blog of other authors. I’ll be joining Joanna’s girls at Popculture Divas . This going to be sooo much fun.

Does this mean I’m putting an end to my own blog? Absolutely not. It just means I’ll be in two places every other month. Yep my commitment is only a blog every other month. I’ll be blogging there about the stuff I do here. Right on!

So how big a to be read pile of book is too big? I have had friends tell me that mine is way too big. Someone even accused me of having an addiction to just buying books.

I have to agree with my friends who say my pile is too big. I counted it last year and I had over 100 hard covers and trade paperbacks and 850 mass paperbacks. I’m probably down to 75 hard cover and trade paperbacks, but about 825 in mass paperbacks. I’m constantly reading but not as fast as my favourite authors release books. However I have to say that about half the books I currently have in hand were given to me by friends or at conferences. A large portion of my other books were purchased at used bookstores.

As for the friend who said I had an addiction to purchasing books, I don’t agree. However if I had to have an addiction I’d much prefer one that will educate and entertain me than any other form of addiction

I still plan on reading all the books I have on hand. It’s going to take some time but I’m up for the challenge.

So how large is your to be read pile and what are people saying about it?

Well I did it! I entered DEADLY SECRETS into the EPPIES. This is a contest for published books in electronic format. The cost isn’t big but the reward of being a finalist and if at all possible winning would be grand.

I have entered DEADLY SECRETS in just two other contests. The first one I didn’t final in. As for the second one I’m still waiting to hear back on that one.

Do I think I have a good chance to final and wining the EPPIE? I’d love to say yes, but to be honest I don’t know. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Its’ party day! I’m on my way out to get the last minute details done and set up the hall for my parent 40^th anniversary party. People are arriving every minute.

We are going to have so much fun. My sister is giving the toast. I have all the pictures and their wedding cake knife (yep it’s the original one and the best part is that they have been using it every day these past 40 years).

If you are guilty of the visiting gossip blogs like I am, then you probably already know this, but Betty is getting a makeover for this season’s UGLY BETTY. Are you surprised? I have to admit I’m not. They were bound to change her appearance for her new promotion. The real question is whether it’ll change who she is inside. Will she let them do a whole makeover on her?

In a way I hope she does get a little rattled inside, but stays true to herself. No one in their early twenties like Betty is portrayed in the show is as secured in her identity as she is. I hope the producers will challenger her in a way they used to do when Gino was on the show. Now he made Betty think and challenged in ways no other character ever did on the show. I miss Gino.
