Maggie has been burned by love more than once. First she gets dumped by her high school boyfriend the day he comes home a baseball hero with his fiancé in toe. She gets jilted right in front of the whole town. Then she goes and falls for a gorgeous Irishman, who just happens to be her catholic priest. Yep she’s had her hard times finding true love, until she takes a second look at the town’s loner, Malone. Can she find true love a third time around?

I have to say I laughed and cried as I read this book. It was FABULOUS!  Ms Higgins sure knows how to capture and keep a readers vivid attention. There’s no wonder it’s nominated for a coveted RITA award. I also loved the cover. Who wouldn’t love that cute little puppy? Malone made for a great brooding hero. There were times when I wanted to tickle him to get a smile from him. While Maggie is perfect for him, there were times when I wanted to shake her and say “let go of the priest. He’s never going to leave the church for you”.  I can’t wait to get my hands on Ms Higgins August release, I’m sure it’ll be a winner as well.

Who would I recommend this book to? I’d recommend it to all readers. It’ll appeal to the romance reader along with those who prefer mainstream books. It’s just a perfect book.

Review- FOOLS RUSH IN by Kristan Higgins

Millie Barnes, Dr Millie Barnes that is returns home in FOOLS RUSH IN.  She’s determined to get the attention of the man she’s been infatuated with since turning sixteen.  She looses weight, goes through a makeover and finds her groove, in a way.  In her mind she’s doing it for Joe. Well it works but she also discovers the Joe she’s been infatuated with doesn’t exist. He’s not the real Joe. However she discovers that along the way she has fallen in love, but not with Joe but her best friend and ex-brother-in-law Sam.  She has to determine if what she feels for Sam is real or a figment of her imagination once more.

I don’t usually like reading first person books, but I truly enjoyed reading FOOLS RUSH IN.  Ms Higgins has a true knack of getting a reader hooked and hooked for good. What did I like the best about this book? Well the heroine not being a perfect size 2 and discovering/loving herself in the end.  Right on! Also there is one scene in the book that’s really good, it’s when she gives the boys hell for sneaking some booze at a party, underage children no less. Her take charge no nonsense attitude there is fabulous. I found myself laughing out loud more than a few times while reading this book. I can’t wait for Ms Higgins August release and plan to hunt down her other books as well.
